watering concerns for den nobile and zygo

Hi, My zygo & den recently lost their blooms, and I have some concerns. Let me just say that I plead guilty to repeated overwatering; no matter what I do, the roots rot. That being said, can someone give me advice on watering? Should the bark dry out between watering? The den canes began to shrivel slightly, and had some yellowing leaves. My zygo has 3 new growths, with splitting leaf around the expanding pseudo bulb. I've started to use wood sticks to check for dryness. Thanks

Where do you live? That will help give advice.

Personally, I like to use clear pots so I can see what is happening with the roots. I do let my den nobiles dry out pretty well before watering again. I do live in a dry environment in metro Denver so my orchids dry out faster than in other locations.

I believe zygos like water more often than den nobile. I don't let mine dry too much between waterings.
