My experience says if it is a slow grower, the flower last longer. A fast grower, shorter blooms.

I find that my Paphs bloom on one fan (#1), then grow another one (#2) and often get the next fan (#3) started before they bloom on #2 fan. Or they grow a #2 fan and bloom on it, then start a new one. Some are sequential and the bloom shoot continues to grow and put out new flowers, one after the other. You can see the new bud develop under the old flower... lots of fun! You have a very pretty Paph, enjoy it. I'm finding them fairly easy to grow and I love the variegated ones even when not blooming. I've had some trouble with fungal infections, be sure to spray at the first sign of problems, but they respond well to treatment and new growth is clean.

I just purchased 30 paphs yesterday for an incredibly low price. Each one is in spike, some with several spikes, there are all different kinds including sequential bloomers and species. They will arrive next week. I have been reading up on them. I've gone insane.

It is not uncommon for paphs to hold the flower for many months, ive had some in bloom soo long i got sick of looking at them and cut the spike. And have cut many spikes so the plant could rest after blooming for many months. As long as the environment is kept at a pretty consistent temp and humidity flowers of lots of orchids will last a long time.
That paph you have there is very nice and a real easy one to grow, the species will be much more challenging. It should reward you with flowers on a pretty consistent basis.

Thanks, Jeromy. I've almost become tired of it, too. I even repotted it a month ago because it really needed it and it didn't blink an eye. I am looking forward to some more challenging paphs. I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions.

Your welcome Karin, thats what we are here for. Im a paph nut i currently have about 80 of them growing under lights, ive pretty**much focused exclusively on paphs for the last 5 or 6 years. My favorites are the parvis, check them out you wont be disappointed!
