    Talking Phalaenopsis Anna-Larati Soekardi

I am not sure about the ID, just speculating it as Phalaenopsis Anna-Larati Soekardi. I hope someone could help me. Not the prettiest bloom at this moment. I hope it will be better next time. Very hard to photograph because everyone is facing down. Maybe I will cross this with my Phal. deliciosa.

Might not be the greatest shape but love the colours and sparkle!

I don't see anything in these flower photos that would make me question seeing it identified as Phal Anna-Larati Soekardi. But that isn't the same as a confirmation. I don't know flower size, or form of the plant or inflorescence, for instance.

Even if you had a positive identification, do think this is good enough to breed with?

If you have any other idea about the ID please do let me know Kirk.

Thank you for pointing that out. The diameter of the biggest flower is around 2.2cm, smaller flower is around 1.8cm. Lip about 0.8cm long, 1cm wide (measurement for biggest flower). Length of ovary and pedicel 2.5cm (for biggest flower). Longest leaf is 9cm. Length of one spike around 6 cm, 5 spikes altogether. (Too lazy to take picture of the plant now. Sorry!).

The quality of flower is not the best. I don't know why did the lateral sepal opens like that. I want to hybridize orchid for fun, not for commercial purpose (it's one of my bucket-list). I hope someday I will have at least one self-named orchid. Since most of my attempt ended up in vain before, so why not try? I have nothing to lose either.

Just found out that Phal. deliciosa × Phal. Anna-Larati Soekardi = Phalaenopsis Kasorn Rosy Lip is possible.

I find the shape similar to a cyclamen, and the sparkle very attractive

The size of the flower is in range for Phal ALS, a bit smaller than awarded forms as you might expect. Plant size is about right too. There aren't many parishii hybrids, which it definitely appears to be, so ALS seems the best possibility.

My concern about the quality for breeding was that you seem to saying the flowers are not well displayed. I don't care about award quality flowers, but you can go through all the effort and time just for your own curiosity and satisfaction, or you can just as easily create something others will truly enjoy as well.

I suspect the flowers face down because of the light is not bright enough.

Maybe you can slowly expose your plant to the higher light and observe the next buds what will happen. By the way is as very cute.
