    Default Phal. cornu-cervi f. chattaladae Comparison 2n and 4n

I love Phal. cornu-cervi. I find them easy to grow and they are always in bloom. I particularly like the f. chattaladae because of the striking color. I have had a 2n plant for quite a few years and then got a 4n seedling a year or so ago. It is just starting to bloom, so decided to compare the two with respect to size and form. The 4n is the flower on the right and is really stunning .

Hi Susan welcome back both are very beautiful but the 4N the color is so intense and wider I agree with you very easy to bloom under the tropical climate.

Thanks for the side by side comparison. This clearly shows why 4n plants are considered superior. And a warm welcome back.

I wonder if the 4n plant is relatively bigger.

The 4n plant is still quite young, but the leaves in comparison to the leaves on the 2n plant are significantly wider.
