Humidity Trays

I made my own humidity trays. Should I also use them for when I have my orchids outside too?

I live in Southern California. Right now it's in the mid to high 60's during the day and sunny. I have my orchids out in my back patio for about 7 hours and then bring them inside at night.

So wondering if they should be sitting on the humidity trays outside as well since it's not very humid right now.

My guess is if orchids are grouped in large number maybe, otherwise air movement will disperse any humidity created.
The weather reports I see from Southern Cal. are showing steady humidity in the 60 - 70% range which is ideal for orchids.

Humidity trays, at least in my environment, do nothing unless you put the orchids in an enclosed space.
Better use a humidifier.

Humidity trays work well as drip catchers. Also the orchid pots prefer to stand on a grid rather than a solid surface and the grids provided with the humidity trays work well. The humidity increase by the trays is minor indoors and the trays do not have any effect on the humidity outdoors.

Thanks! Yeah, I guess the humidity is pretty good here. Didn't realize it would be that good during winter here.
