Well, in my neighborhood it got down to 28 last night, with winds up to 20 mph (gusts) as I live in a canyon. Needless to say, my outdoor plants are not designed for this kind of weather.
The birdbath had 1/2 inch of ice on it. The spigot for the hose was frozen, I had to pour warm water on it to get it running.

And I lost at least 4 spikes of cymbidiums, as they had broken out the buds (I hadn't checked them this week), and the buds can't take that kind of cold.The rest are coming inside tonight.

I know this is serious, but it's a little funny watching not-winterized cars sliding in all directions on the news. Its freezing where I am so I'm used to it
. I'm in Atlanta and it was a heavenly 70 degrees today, dig out the t-shirts! I enjoyed my change from normal though, don't imagine a streak in the 20's would be quite as nice...
