paph Delrosi and complex

Here are a couple of blooming paphs. The pink roth cross is paph Delrosi. The top flower just opened and a third may be coming!

The toad is a complex paph, Advancement x Geraldine. This time around it has two blooms on one spike! The first flower must be at least 6 weeks old and is beginning to soften. (It's been in the house.) The second opened Friday and has already increased in size and substance. It isn't nearly as large as the first bloom yet.

I may have more photos to share of currently blooming plants tomorrow. Glad you all enjoyed them! I'm learning there is quite a bit to getting quality photos of flowers! I'm still trying!

Well, I'd love to see them! I agree, getting good pics is tricky - I need to go get myself a nice backdrop if I wish to continue. I'm tired of trees and vinyl siding! Lol!!!

I hope you keep posting your pics... I love seeing them all! I learn a lot from them!

I've got my son holding up a high-tech dark background (his mothers wind breaker...) for the next two photographs. It really seems to help, especially for the lighter blooms. The correct light angle(s) and light intensity for a given plant seems to be a big hurdle.

I've studying high class photographs to try to get an idea of different backgrounds and light angles. I may even try some filters on my lens to get truer color. The soft pinks are tough to get true under my lighting conditions.

Thank goodness I'm not having to burn up film for these experiments!
