Orchids in moss

Hi!
I recently bought a few orchids plants, just the type they sell at box stores (I think Dendrobium Red Empress? Something typical, anyway). They are past their prime, so were on sale, and I wanted to take a shot at growing them properly.
They are currently potted in clay pots, and the potting medium seems to be a soft beige moss of some sort.
I bought some orchid planting medium.
Should I re-pot them with the new orchid medium?

It's your choice to repot them or not. Personally, I would only repot if the moss is really black looking or old, smelly and nasty. You said "beige" so without a picture I'm assuming it's okay.

Let the moss almost dry before watering again...and let it dry more-so if the temperatures are cool. A picture would help...

I agree, I grow quite a few things in Sphagnum moss

Hi Zoe,
Your orchid is in spag and is a phalaenopsis, not a dendrobium. If the flower is finished, I would repot to make sure the roots are good. (but I always repot everything I bring home...lol)
