Guess what? After looking at my phals I have another 3 sending up spikes! That's 4 in total. If only my phal Gold vein would! It's sat and looked at me for 2 1/2 years now!I repotted it last month and trimmed the roots, and it's sending out a new root already! But flowers? Forget it! That's the last time I get a phal in a marquee in November! Judi
I am happy for you glad you are getting lots of spikes, you said something about an Phal Gold Vein from the name I am guessing it might be yellow.. I have one yellow Phal that I can’t get to flower it has been 2 years for me too it is Phalaenopsis Dawn Hunter x Venosa ‘Carmela’ wonder why these yellow ones are so hard for us to get to flower, any one got a guess.
I know this post is old, but as I am always asking for translations I felt obliged to translate from UK to US.
A marquee is a big tent thing - commonly used for weddings or outdoor shows because if there's one thing you can rely on English weather to do - it is rain in the summer on big events! Quite often they have removable sides, on the off chance that the sun might shine after all and actually manage to boil everyone to death inside!
