All favourites Hoa, your making my hand itch for a shopping expedition to get more Paphs!
So the new quiz... is it a roth x adductum?
nanu-nanu HOA TONY. your display is fantabalous. 'Course I haven't a notion of any of them !, but I know what I like when I see it. I can see myself coming back and back to this post! Thanks
while i think PEOY *could* look that way, the wider petal stance makes me think PEOY x roths. which has been named Shin-Yi Edward. that's my first guess.
(that first photo almost looks like roths x supardii, which are very closely related to each other)
Hi Manooga,
Thanks!
Hi Shaydra,
Well, maybe one day you can have them all !!! Orchid is such a bad addiction, you just want to have them all ...
Hi Tim and Jason,
You guys' guesses are GREAT and Jason's guess is extremely close (75%). I hesitated to post this one for our guessing game because I think the flowers are not unambiguous (and that was the reason that I emphasize the picture of the last bloom, not the first bloom). To know what the cross is, notice the twisty petals of the blooms, what else can give the blooms that trait besides the obvious? Also the petal stance!!! Have fun!!!
Cheers. Hoa.

Stunning photos of gorgeous orchids.![]()
They absolutely take my breath away. Good thing I have my oxygen on!!
Katie
hmm...I don't see much phil in there at all, but I guess MK x roths could be a possibility. PEOY x sandy also. stonei I don't see in that dorsal so I'm leaving it out. color is quite good so something like Susan Booth x sandy is also possible. lots of options!
Oh my GOD! Hoa, expect me in Pasadena and Costa Mesa!
Sorry for taking so long to get back to this thread, I have been so busy! I guess I own a resolution to this riddle.
Hi Joan, Katie, and Aleksa,
Thanks!!! Hope you guys enjoy the pictures! Aleksa, sure, you can visit any time! If you have been living closer by, I could even have given you a bunch of my orchids!
Hi Jason,
It is indeed MK x roth, aka Paph. Shin Yi's Pride. I had some problem with it since I did not think it was a clear cut one. This first bloom seedling had two blooms, the first bloom looked just like MK but the second bloom on the same spike, had more roth look so I emphasized it. So you and Tim got the other parent right away (roth). With long petals, you thought of a sandy hybrid right away so that is another right! Twisty petals and petal color could come from phil, but not too obvious unless you saw the first bloom!
Thanks for venturing a guess. You guys did so well! But this one is certainly harder!
Cheers. Hoa.
