Phal. Schilleriana (seedling in bloom)

I have another phal with mottled leaves that has a moe deeply colored flower that I am certain is a hybred with one of the other mottled leaf species like stuartiana or schilleriana. I'll post a pic later today on this thread......

As promised, here is a pic of my hybred. It has similar mottled leaves and a small flower. The petels aren't re-curved like schilleriana but the color is more pink and no fragrance. The over-all plant is smaller, too. Maybe my growing?

This could be PHALAENOPSIS schilleriana v. purpurea
basically the same as P. schilleriana but with darker flowers and more of them. Mature plants can have up to 200 blossoms! Both species like to be mounted. P. schilleriana v. purpurea is next on my list of species phals.
Your's is beautiful! You might not be noticing the scent because of temp. they like it a bit warmer than you and I can provide right now.

It does and how might I find out if, in fact, this is a variation? I have 3 of them that I saved from the dumpster....garden center doesn't care for their plants particularly well and I go in and rescue them.....and I have posted pics of these before. They, too, have mottled leaves and I assume are a cross with a species like schilleriana and some spotted hybred...I doubt they are a variation like my other plant

I really don't know of a way to find out for sure unless you could put it side by side with a "known" plant. The underside of the leaves should be a purple color (on both varieties). They both branch at lot, especially with age. When mounted, the blossom spikes hang down and out and make a spectacular display. Sure wish we lived closer or that I had a garden center close by!!! LOL When it comes right down to it, it's your plant and until proven different, you can call it anything you like! (meant in the most friendly way, you can't see the grin on my face but it's there!)

I was looking at my orchid late this afternoon and just can't get over just how beautiful the flower is composed...from its rose-pink color to the freckles on its violin shaped lip...it is just beautiful. So I wanted to post some close-ups...not the best because I'm not much of a photographer.

That's one of the prettiest phals I've ever seen. The shape is so pleasing and the color is soft to the eye. I could look at this bloom for hours. Nice pics too, Giovanna. Could someone PM me where I could find this beauty in the US please?
