Just started to bloom and as you can see it didn't lose all it's leaves so I guess I'll have to tweak the culture a little next year. Don't think I got it dry enough this winter. I have had it for 3 yrs and this is it's first blooming. So little by little we're learning how to live with one another.





Also almost in full bloom and putting on such a show, is this NOID that I named Phal. Cozumel Dreaming 'ischel'. Maybe this post we can find out her real name. Anyone??

The anosmum leaves look so green, maybe it didn't get enough cool temps. Do you grow it indoors or out? The phal is beautiful.

Hey gbrice, unfortunately I have to grow it indoors with the rest of my orchids, since the winters are too cold here to grow outside and my OH has HIS green house full of HIS plants and there is no room for my orchids. Besides my orchids are too sophisticated to associate with HIS plants.Lol. You're probably right about about the temp and I think also that I didn't dry it out enough. I have this thing about nuturing and can't stand to see things dry up. So that's my bad!

I don't know, Ishel,. It looks like it bloomed just fine. So unless you really prefer seeing it leafless, I'd say just keep doing what you're doing. Sure didn't hurt it. [And now it'll have more leaves to use for photosynthesis. ]

I'm with Pavel, maybe you've actually managed to provide culture for this plant that it prefers more than how it gets treated in the wild... a bit like some plants once it is introduced to another country becomes very vigorous and some turn out as weeds (wouldn't it be great to have these type of orchids as weeds!!!)

the phal is also very pretty with all the spotting!
