Holcoglossum flavescens culture

I just bought this plant last week but I am not sure if I have to grow this under full sun or not. Anyone else have this plant? I appreciate it very much for any info you can share.

Hi Tanya! Good to see you on-line. I do not have that plant, so no help, but it is very nice. Maybe Nelson will see it. He may actually grow it or something similar.

Hi there Tanya, I do grow these little guys and culture is the same as Papilionanthe vandarum, or if you are unaware of that one, similar culture to Vanda coerulea. I keep them in intermediate -cool temperatures and give them shading of one layer 50% white and one layer 70% white shade cloth in an unheated glasshouse in summer watered heavily (as mine are mounted) and fertilised moderately, then, in winter it stays in an unheated g/house but shade cloth is slowly removed from the 70% layer in autumn to 50% in early winter and only then no shade cloth for the rest of winter until early spring.
Less water in winter and hardly any fertiliser. Hope that helps.

No worries Tanya. I grow quite a few of the "Himalayan" vandoides and some odd ones they are, but I love them for their rarity and challenge. any other questions don't hesitate to drop me a line.
