been swamped lately with fellowship and the @!^%@^$ Mets, among other things, but had to share this one here. years back I "won" a mystery plant from Bruce & Louis, and it turned out to be a big blooming-sized Michael Koopowitz x roths, which promptly bloomed! (thanks again guys!)

well, according to my records, it's been exactly THREE years, and the next growth has finally matured! hopefully it won't be quite as long until the next blooming...

Registered in 2001, Paph. Shin-Yi's Pride is a stately multifloral hybrid produced by crossing the long-petalled Michael Koopowitz with the incomparable rothschildianum. The grex has already received some high awards from the AOS, including the coveted FCC, with the finest clones producing large, long-petalled, boldly-striped flowers on strong vertical inflorescences. The petal stance is highly variable, with some clones having pendant petals and others with significant natural spread from the rothschildianum parent. Culture is easy under standard multifloral paph care: bright light, warm temperatures, and a cool winter rest.
