Hello Orchid Friends (and enablers);
I've been lurking and not posting much lately due to way to many errands, setting up a new grow area inside for the duration of the cold spell, and whining about the weather and it's effect on my arthritis. lol I had this unusual phal spike that got me grabbing my camera...I have never seen one this color, EVER! I was going over each of the plants double checking for bugs and found this wonder....I included the second picture of the plant to show how the poor thing has been abused. When I bought it originally a leaf had been sliced almost through from being trapped between trays, and since then it has gotten burned once and cold singed once. And to reward me for abusing it I find this amazing spike....This plant is a No Id....with purple flowers that last forever.

The next pic shows the room we used to call the "guest bedroom". I've been really suprised at how some of the catts really seem to like it in there. I'm finding all kinds of new root growth. This section is about 1/3 of the total shelves. The dresser has a layer of plants on it and the windowsills are jammed with the smaller plants that love high light levels. All that is missing is a recording with jungle noises!
