Several months ago, I purchased my first two Eria species. They are Eria acervata and Eria bambusifolia.

I have an issue I need to resolve with these, and I am hoping that maybe some of you have experience with the genus and can give me some advice.

The vendor who I purchased them from told me that they both grow intermediate-warm. Once I got home, I looked them up in my books, but alas, these two species aren't covered in Pridgeon's "Illustrated Encyclopedia of Orchids," nor are they included in Nash & La Croix's "Flora's Orchids."

About the genus, "Flora's Orchids" says this: "The lowland species require year-round warm conditions, while those from the mountainous regions appreciate cooler temperatures."

The next stop was IOSPE, and Jay only had E. acervata listed. Since there was no listing for Eria bambusifolia, I took some photos of my plant and sent them in to Jay. But much to my surprise, the info he put out for it says that it is a cold growing orchid. The link to that page is below.

I'm inclined to believe the vendor over whatever reference book he used. I've bought many plants from him, and all but maybe one have grown really well for me.

I just want to make sure that E. bambusifolia isn't a cold grower, because if it is, I probably need to give it to someone who can accomodate that temp range.
