Hi all,

I got this at my OS show last March and have been eagerly waiting for this bloom. It's a cross between a very vini Maudiae type (Paph Red Shift) and delenatii. It was mislabeled as Paph Chen Samn 'Colorful', suggesting it's a clone of Chen Samn, but Orchid Wiz says there's no such plant as just Chen Samn--it does, however, list Chen Samn Colorful. Not for everyone, because some don't like vinis, but for those who do, well, all I can say is this is a color I really associate more with Catts & Phals, not Paphs!

The shape reflects both parents, but the color of the bloom obviously is more like the vini hybrid parent.

Because I think the leaves are just stunning all by themselves, I had to include this one taken about two weeks before the bloom opened. Although Maudiae types have nice mottling in their foliage, delenatii blows them out of the water in that regard and I'm pleased it predominates in this respect. Thanks for looking and hope you like.

Cheers,
Rob
