Default Reed Stem Epidendrums in Bloom

Reed stem Epidendrums are supposed to be one of the easiest to grow. Some friends have been growing them in beds in the ground, right out in the sun. Unfortunately I have not been very successful with them. Recently I have been impressed by these perpetual blooming blooming orchids in my friend's garden and have decided to give it another try. I recently acquired two of these. One is Epi Hokulea 'Super Red' (origin - Hawaii) with scarlet flowers and the other Epi Rung Aroon ( cinnabarinum x ibaguense from Thailand) very large flowers for a reed stem epidendrum 2 ins x 2 1/4 ins. The Epi Hokulea is about 3 t tall, about normal for a reed stem epi while the Epi Rung Aroon is about 15 ins high.
