Hello,
I know nothing about orchids, but a few months ago, my sister abandoned hers and left it to die. I rescued it, but the plant had lost its flowers, yet still had two large leaves. My dad suggested I put the orchid in a bowl of water by the window.
I had read somewhere that it was bad for orchids to be over watered and too close to the sun.
None the less, (he has a green thumb so i went for it), after cutting the rotten roots, i placed it in a bowl near a window. Surprisingly new green healthy roots have since grown. The orchid now has about 3 2-3inch roots and two new baby leaves. The leaves are very dark green and the baby leaves have a lot of purple in them.
Is my plant dying or growing? Can't tell if these colours are good or not?
Should I keep it in water? Or re-pot it? I would really like her to survive so I would like instructions on what to do for her now...
Many thanks
