    Default Amorphophallus urceolatus

This is about a month late but I hope you dont mind me sharing this here.

I was given a dormant tuber last Feb/11, 3 of them to be exact (size of my fist)... this is my
first time delving into amorphophallus, i've heard that they are stinky, but I am intrigue with the
flowers so I decided to give it a try. I have made a lot of mistake in keeping the tubers and
almost lost all of them to rot, fortunately I was able to save them. I was so excited when around July one of the tubers decided to wake up, at first I am not sure whether it is just waking up to flowering, and when I confirmed that it is in indeed flowering, I tried to smell it but I could not detect anything... so I decided to bring it inside the house (Big mistake).

The next day while I was a work I got a message from the wife, she tells me that maybe theres a dead
rat in the ceiling. And when I arrived from work that day, oh boy the house really stinks of dead
rat upon opening the front door. So since the wife is protesting in anger I have no choice but to
bring it back outside, but the stink lingers on for 3-4 days... we've tried scented candles, perfumes
etc... nothing worked. But still whenever I pass by the flower I really have to stop and appreciate
how uniquely beautiful it is... now the flower has fades it lasted about 5 days.. but the other 2
tubers are waking up and it seems that it is flowering too... oh cant wait.

Since then I have been able to collect about 8 species of amorphs, and I keep on teasing the wife that
I hope someday they would all bloom at the same time.
