I have been in Rochester NY for the past two days for business meetings. I am so fortunate to work for a company that cares so much about their employees. I was encourage to skip the afternoon meetings due to the reports of flooding in Pennsylvania and head home. I am so thankful I left early and got home berfore dark. I had road closures with very unfamiliar detours and fog was beginning to develope the closer home I got. A five hour drive became a 7.5 hour drive. The worst part of it is what I saw. Entire neighborhoods with water up to the first floor windows. Corn fields where all you could see were tips of the tassles of the cornstalks which are anywhere from 6 to 8 feet tall. What is worse is that the rivers are not to crest until Saturday morning so there is much more damage to be done. Thankfully I arrived home to find everyone safe and the house and basement dry. I didn't take pictures of what I saw. Camera happy people are the last thing the authorities need to deal with. Unfortunately in many areas I saw crowds taking pics and holding up traffic as they did. I don't need pics to help me remmber what I saw. Those scenes will be etched in my mind forever. Please pray for the people who are facing loosing everything over the next few days. This happened due to 13 plus inches of rain that we have had since Sunday evening.
