Hello All,
An orchid (Phal) I recently acquired is in need of some attention, and I cant decide if the situation calls for cutting off the lovely blooms in order to re-pot it right away, or if this is something I can wait on until the plant finishes blooming on its own.
There is a white, fuzzy, soft mold growing on the outside of the clay pot, it is potted in sphag (at least from what I can tell from the top) and smells rather badly at this point. I am going to look for a fan for it today to increase circulation, but it should have been getting some pretty good air movement even without the addition of a fan.
It has a new leaf that has been growing steadily and happily the entire time I have had it, so the plant does seem to be healthy....but that smell can not be good news.
What do you think?
