Hi! I am a first time visitor and first time orchid grower!

I acquired a phal ...one of those "Just add ice" things... about a month ago. Currently it is in bloom, and more bulbs are just opening up. Recently, leaves have started to droop, and it's blooming much slower than it was at the start (i.e. in the beginning, when a bulb is kind of opening, it'll take maybe a day or two for it to fully open, compared to right now the bulb is taking more than a week to open). After much googling, I have decided to take a look at the roots. What I found was that the bark/moss/soil mixture is very wet despite me only adding three ice cubes per week as directed. The roots are deflated and black with lots of springtails running around.
Since I don't have time to go and try to find a place that will sell me only a small pot of pot/moss/soil mixture, I was wondering if I can just leave the potting media and the roots out to dry for a day or two?

Thanks!
