Hi y'all -

I picked up this Sedirea japonica at the Orchid Show last weekend, when I saw that it looked like it was going to spike - and now it's REALLY spiked out! I'm very excited about this and am trying my best to keep it happy so the buds don't blast, as I know that is a common occurrence. By the way, this Sedirea was right next to an Aerides japonica, so I asked the AOS judge who happened to be looking at them with me what was the difference between the two. He laughed and told me that "sedirea" is Aerides spelled backwards! But they are 2 different genera; I guess some of those frustrating taxonomists have a sense of humor - or, perhaps, no imagination.
