Hi there!

I'm an experienced gardener in several other areas but orchids are a whole new vast delicious area that I've only just dipped my toe into!

I recently bought some plants in Hawaii and can't wait for them to arrive this week. In the meantime, I went to a local nursey and purchased several more, including some bulbophyllums.

Can they be propagated by just detaching the bulbs and roots and putting them in a new container? It seems a little too easy...and I've heard otherwise?

I'm in Zone 8 in central Texas - completely topsy turvy weather but I do have a penchant for tropicals of all sorts...sigh... - is it helpful to keep a spritzer bottle handy to increase humidity when nature's not complying?
