No idea what the new taxonomy of catts, etc has done to this name, but the parents are Pot. Hisako Akatsuka and Blc. Hawaiian Lightning. I'm clueless without my OWiz program, but it's at home on my other computer.
Anyway, 'Aloha Spirit' doesn't seem to be as widespread as the clone 'Paradise', although from the photos I've seen, there is so much variation among the numerous clones of Pot. Dick Smith, it's hard to know why - a marketing thing, I suppose.
I was fortunate to pick up a division of an older plant, so this one is pretty established. The fragrance is charming, and the blooms lasted nearly 3 weeks in this weird warm/cool/cold/warm again weather we're having here in South Florida. I've been leaving my orchid outside despite the fact that night temps have gone into the 40s a couple of times. So far, not much damage seen, but there's plenty of time to see how it plays out.
When I took this, it was past its peak - a shame, since it had been so perfect and vibrant.
