I got this plant when I was in Sandakan Sabah East Malaysia in 2010 when I was visited one nursery I was looking few vanda species and managed to get V. lamellata variety Sabah from Tenom. Then I saw very huge vanda the vendor said never bloom for him though he already had this plant for the past more than 5 years, he soo nice, gave me for free one cutting from the mother plant I'm so excited initially. For the past 2 years I was monitoring despite on exposure to excessive light and even direct sunlight no evidence of spike I really gave up however 4 weeks ago suddenly I noticed the spike arose from the middle of the plant not near the stem which was very odd and when it's pop up the color really like blood I was shock for short awhile and felt proud of it and hoping after this it will continuously bloom for me. Just to share with you all red limbata well the photos doesnt show the true color.Origin of this plant I'm not that sure either Indonesia or Philippine.
