probably a miltassia? i got this about 2 years ago, and it had no tag. the flowers are widely spaced apart, which makes me think it is not a full brassia. i was told to give it less light than most oncidiums, and the poor thing just seemed sad looking with weak growth, dark colored leaves. since reading on this forum to try brighter light i moved it closer to the center of the window, hoping the new growths would come in more sturdy. a few weeks ago i noticed a spike, but assumed it was just the miltassia shelob next to it, i mean yay another spike, but as often as it blooms it isn't such a big deal. then last week i noticed the spike had grown big, fast, which was not like the shelob at all (painfully slow growing, those shelob spikes). sure enough, it was the spider orchid. it's done pretty well too, since it has 10 flowers, and when i bought it it had 2 spikes with 9 and 11 flowers. kind of a surprise this one flowered at all, considering the abuse it took for 2 years in too much shade. the larger flowers are just over 11" long.
