Well, actually, my plant is still under a shade cloth but it gets up to 7 hours of light. I once put it under direct sunlight and it's leaves were damaged. i think you should provide it some shade especially during noon. it needs light like strap leaf vandas. these plants grow roots only when its surrounding is humid. coarse medium may dry out quickly. what i do (which may sound weird and funny) is i fill 2 pairs of socks with sphagnum moss just so it retains moisture longer. then place it about 2 inches around the plant together with fern slabs and come coco nut chips. i will post how my pot looks like when i get home. i took me so long to get this trick right.

go get one jason, i think this plant will love your place since you have hot days and cool nights. it will flower very frequently if it meets these two conditions. here in my place, we only get cool nights (22 degrees celsius) from January to February..please post when you get one
