I have a phal mariae that is in spike (my bastianii flowers all aborted on the spike so I cut it back after it stopped producing buds in hopes of re-blooming the spike) and I will let the spikes stay on to have an opportunity to keiki.

Both of the spikes on the phal mariae are very low, not reaching for the light at all. One may be into the roots, which I assume will make for bad blooming on that spike. Maybe that will be the keiki candidate. There are already 2 other phal mariae's plant in the pot. Perhaps that is how they were born. It was not sold as a compot.
