Dendrobium - Keiki growing at an odd place?

Hi everyone! This is my Den Sun Chuli. A few days ago, I thought it was spiking again. However, to my surprise, it is a keiki growing from the top of the cane where usually flower spikes appear! This is my first time encountering something like this. Many of my Dendrobiums have keikis growing from the side of the cane but not at the top of a new cane. Anyone of you experienced something like this before? Thanks! Happy growing!
