Catasetum integerrimum - Spike or new growth?
Hello guys! I have this Catasetum Integerrimum ---. It started to appear a new "something" and I'm debating here if it could be a spike or a new growth. The lady at the orchid festival said that it would probably take 2 year until it bloomed.. But I did some research and this looks a lot like the spikes I see on the internet. Is a little bit rounded and very light green. However, the orchid has no root system right now ( from when I first saw the plant at least, which wasn't too long ago), it is (or was I guess) dormant. IF it is a new spike, what should be the steps I should take regarding to watering, feeding and light since the plant has no roots? I know that a new growth you only start watering it when I reaches at least 3 in or so and when some roots start to appear.
