Some weeks ago I bought this orchid with a spike in bloom. Couldn't resist it. It has a lovely fragrance. The blooms have faded suddenly and some of the outer leaves look a bit yellowed. The pseudobulbs have also shrivelled a bit.I am not sure what to do with it. The potting medium seems to be a mix. Large pieces of bark on top and a fine mix, almost loamy, underneath. (I'm fairly sure this is not just the bark breaking down as there seems to be almost a sandy component)I hate to unpot the whole thing to see if the roots are alright and I'm not sure if the blooming stressed the plant. Can anyone advise what type of potting material this plant should be in? Should I continue to water it or give it a rest?
