An update,
I'm confident that the paph armeniacum is going to live now but I will have to grow it up like a seedling. It send out a tiny quarter inch root first thing and there is a stub at the base that is turning green and I suspect a leaf will arise from there and the remaining leaf from the old growth will wither. When it is bigger I'll post a pic because there isn't much to see yet.

The pollen is probably dead though, but I'm not sure. Does the paph pollen die when it gets dried? It's opaque and sort of clay like now I guess. If I were to do a cross I would probably cross it with another parvi hybrid. I just bought a Paph Armeni White x jackii in sheath and it feels right to cross it with that at the moment.
