..interesting in that you say Western instruments are "off".

After years of playing the piano and occasionally listening to the bagpipe, I always thought the bagpipe notes sounded kind of sharp. (I guess that explains my thoughts...your A being higher than a concert A...it almost sounds like A sharp to me.)
