My mom was given a sherry baby onc. about 6 months ago in bloom. It was doing fine and she has it in a south/east facing window with a light cloth over the window to diffuse the light so it gets bright light but not direct sunlight. It is in a plastic pot and she waters it about once a week, when the dirt starts to dry out. The window box that it sits in has a layer of rocks on the bottom with some water to evaporate to keep the humidity up. Lately it has gotten increasingly unhappy. It has lost several leaves and the ones left are crinkled strangely.
We repotted it yesterday to get it in a terra cotta pot so it can drain better and to get a look at the roots, I thought they might be rotting, but they looked fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do to save this little plant? My mom really loves it and has wanted to grow orchids for years. She also has 2 phals in the same window who are both very happy and in spike.
Here are some pictures, trying to show the leaves, and one of the window where it sits.
Thanks,
Olivia
