Ths Spots....Who votes for sunburn? And who votes for something else....you have to fill in the "something else"?

I'm just guessing...looks like it's getting the high end of sunlight....not necessarily a bad thing, but you might pull it back a couple inches. I'll defer final opinions to the really well seasoned members around here. I'm still new....even after a couple years....compared to some of our senior members and I've not seen everything quite yet. That may take another ten or twenty years.....maybe longer I can be slow.
Connie
but nice sheath by the way.....can't wait to see the flower
Hmmm Did you get water droplets on it out in the sun?
Sun spots. Nothing to worry about. It means it is getting enough light to bloom.
Cheers,

Yup. Those look like normal sun spots to me.
I like to call them sun freckles, they happen a lot down here.
Cin
may be from sun but it could also be fungal.
Ithink it is a combination of a bit too much sun and the magnification of lite from water droplets....I know the plant is OK and can't wait to see the flowers...it has 2 sheaths soon to open!
My question is about the sheath. Do they always look like this before blooming? I ask because my firt Catt alliance to try to bloom for me has a sheath.......it's a nice green color but doesn't appear to have anything inside (dry sheath?). Does it take 'forever' for the buds to show up?
Al
Hey, Al, This same question was asked elsewhere and I don't know the full answer but my reply was this...I have a catt that has had 2 sheaths for several months, one of which is now turning yellow. They appear to be empty because when I transilluminate them there "ain't" nothin'. So for now I just watch them and hope that a spike will begin to grow.....
These two sheaths are on the same plant; one yellow and the other still green.
This sheath is from the same plant as posted for this thread and you can see the emerging spike at the base.
