I believe you. When I received this orchid it was a decent sized plant in a 6" plastic pot. Once it got a taste of greenhouse conditions it just exploded. It was throwing a new p-bulb every two weeks and I needed to repot into bigger containers 2 times in the last year.
The first repot was into an 8" plastic pot and then into a 12" wood basket and I eventually divided the plant.
This was the original plant after I repotted into the 12" wood basket.
Notice all the new growths itching to get out:
Here it was before I decided to divide it. The wood basket was nearly overrun in less than 6 months.
Here they are after being divided. There are some other oncidiums in the shelves that were not from the mother plant, but there were about 8 divisions from this plant.
If they keep up their growth rate, they may all be in 12" baskets in one year lol. Oh My!
