The individual flower would not be fuzzy. I was referring to how the entire spike would look from a distance once all the flowers open

I know I'm kind of bringing this thread back from the dead but can you comment on the culture you are using to grow your gramm? Mine is not doing well.

Yup me too. I bought two of the 'var alba' kind after I saw this picture.
Both have died back to a couple of pseudobulbs and any new growths seem to just dry up or rot away.

Hi all , Just noticed this , It is in a large clay pot in Spag. It does grow fairly fast but loses old leaves as it is putting on new ones . It gets bright light but not full sun . One thing be vigilant for mites , I check mine weekly . Lost one a long time ago because of them . plus cooked it ....It is Fert. along with the rest of the crew . Gin
