Hi,
My phalaenopsis will lose their blooms in a couple of months.
Can anyone recommend an orchid species that blooms indoors during the summer that a beginner can manage?
Would greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks.

Hi!
Tell us about your growing conditions....the directions your windows face, what kind of climate do you live in, etc...
Welcome!
I have 2 plants that are more of a 'summer' bloomer. The 1st is Phal Penang Girl x bellina. It is lightly scented and very nice. The 2nd is a Noid so can't ber helpful with a name but from the looks of the flower, it may have some bellina and some Brother Sarah Gold...it, too, is more heavily scented...to the point that on a warm day it fills the GH with such pleasantness that you want to spend forever just, well, you get my point.....Not sure but I think the bellina contribution causes it to bloom during the summer...but certainly others may correct me.....
Wooow Bikerdoc,
I adore these kind of phals, and even more if they have pleasant fragrance!
Well done!

I'm going to look for a Princess Kaiulani!! Just love these, hopefully I'll be able to keep them alive.
Great blooms![]()
Thanks,
My orchids are on a table by a window facing East. In Hollywood, CA. I have air conditioning.
Hope this helps. Will start looking at "phals." And, inadvertently, you "realized," I'm also looking for an orchid with a fragrance.
Thanks again.
