Peloric ?

I think the peloric phals orchids are gorgeous - I saw them at the NY botanical garden this past april...really nice ruffled edges. I think its cute, anyways :-)

That is completely open, or at least for this Phal. Brother Digger which is a mericlone.

Can a den. be peloric?



I'm not sure how obvious it is in this photo, but the petals don't seem to open completely. You can see it best in the bloom on the bottom left.

I just read that if "some" conditions get corrected these can bloom normally. I also read an opinion that once it has a peloric condition(?) it will always have it.

After reading, it's obvious that the Phal. Brother Digger is peloric, but I don't see the abnormality of the phal . Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure' AM/AOS. This seems to be a Very common peloric hybrid from all the references across the web.

I have a Baldans as well, and it is perfectly normal, just like yours. I guess it is not uncommon for some to show a peloric tendency, but most I have see are normal.

That's a relief. I spent most of yesterday afternoon staring at it trying to figure out how it was different from all my other Phals. Now, after a good night sleep.... I can see what is different from the original posters. It's the petals and not the lip... Exactly like my Phal. Brother Digger, but not as drastic...
