It looks more like Cleistostoma racemiferum to me as well. The floral bracts on Malleola constricta appear more prominent, but they may have fallen off here. Tough one. Do you have a pic or description of the leaves?

Hi everyone
thank you so much for all y'all's expertise! It looks indeed like a Cleistostoma, in particular like a racemiferum. I'll try to post pictures of the entire plant as soon as I get around to it.
BTW, I'd never even heard of this genus before, but there it is, with all its 110 or so species. Aren't orchids grand? :-)
