Oh Nelson, I'm so jealous. Surely this must be what they mean when they speak of Heaven!
Whoa! Hold on there Ischel... let's make sure first... so, Nelson, were there any orchids there?
If so, then I really really need to consider going to this beautiful heavenly place for a holiday! I've always loved those little rock islands with the forest growing on top of them!
Oh how pretty! Makes me miss Jamaica.....i'd live in Ja if they'd let me (right after we hit the lottery).
Connie
There were no orchids there. I went for a mini-holiday, so I did not look for them, either.
I do remember a few Renenthera amd Dendrobium crumenatum growing on coconut tree trunks near my cottage (villa).
The little rock islands can be reached by foot from the main island at low tide. However, they have no beach, and the sharp coral and rocky seabed will injure your feet. Plus, some sea urchin stings, probably.
Like many things in life, they are best viewed from a little distance.
bench, if I have a bit of spare cash left after a conference in HK in November, I shall consider going to El Nido between Christmas and New Year. That is something to watch out for.
