i know it can flower for a year but,i heard that long lasting flowers give long rests,what do u think?

Not sure about the long rests. I was thinking of getting one just because they're in bloom THAT long. Great looking bloom.

Not really true but at the same time the young shoot appeared from the bottom and giving another flower spike as long as no infection, through my observation.
