Aerides. quinquevulnera question

I got one as a scrap long time ago . I think it is large enough to bloom . Question is how much light does it need to bloom? it has grown well in Medium light but after doing a search on culture one site said one thing , another something different . It is in a slat basket bare .Grown like the Vandas only a little less light . Thanks for any information on it .. Gin

I had an aerides cross awhile back that is at a friends house. I wish I could help you out, but since I dont know I'll bounce you up to where maybe someone that knows will see it.

Gin, try moving it into much brighter light. That should get it to spike. If the plant is growing well, then it probably is a light issue. 90% of the time that is what the problem is.

Gin.. I do agreed with Bruce this plant need bright light. Blooms once a year with 2 to 3 flowers spikes.. I attached Aerides in Durian tree with the morning and evening light focus on this guys so far there were happier unfortunately somebody came and ripped followed their home. Make sure no direct sun light , in the wild they are hanging on tree trunk with maximum light.
