    Default Paphiopedilum Prince Edward of York

    It is often said that Paph rothschildianum is the King of slippers whilst Paph sanderianum is the Queen. So it was inevitable that the two should be crossed.

    And what of the progeny... well the cross was registered in 1898 and named -

    Paphiopedilum Prince Edward of York


    to those who had seen the Who Am I thread recently... this is the same plant.
