Not terribly exciting, but thought I'd show it off since it is the last bloom for me, five total, arrived in bud. This bloom is quite a bit smaller than the others. I have a rough time photographing this for some reason. This was w/ the flash, which I don't like to use, but only decent, in focus pic I could get. Any tips on that? Nice plant to have blooming. Oh, the cross is besseae x Eric Young, registered in 1995, I think.

Yes my camera can be a pain to get good results sometimes.If i,ve got strong natural light then it.s usually point & click.If i use the flash i try to make sure the background is as dark as possible(you,ll notice a lot of my photo,s are taken @ night with the darkness behind them).
You can use a piece of white tissue paper(kitchen towel , nose or bum wipes) over the flash to stop it from being to strong & leeching the colour out of the shot.
You just have to find what works for your particular camera.

LOL! You Brits and your terminology!
I have a painters canvas covered w/ black velvet, but rarely get the strong natural light necessary for decent blooms. I'll try the night time idea too. Thanks!

I agree. And about the flash, is it the kind that's built in and aimed forward, or is a seperate unit you can rotate and tilt? If it's seperate, you can aim it off to the side at a bright wall so that the plant gets reflected flash that isn't as harsh. If it's built in, then definitely go for the bum wipes.
