Pitiful NOID

Been checking the BB store every day for the shipment of 'chids that they were expecting. Well today they were there. Now I know I said I wasn't going to buy any NOIDS, but........... $15 was a bargain....or was it, you be the judge. The reason I bought this particular phal was because of the multi branching of the stem(I'm not an addict!).
As you can see by the drooping flowers and the yellowing of the buds the flowers and buds have suffered cold damage (all the chids, around 50 or so looked like this).But I figured what the hey, I'm gonna repot it anyway and it will probably lose all it's flowers.


This is what it looked like when I unpotted it. BTW there was no hole in the bottom of the pot

Hmm! the ones from my local blue big box store were double potted. a clear plastic pot with holes for drainage and a pink plastic pot with no holes. Hey Ischel, have you ever wanted to expirement with water culture? Looks like this would be a good candidate for it! The ones sent to central Iowa had much more bark and a lot less sphag in the mix.

If you removed that much root system...I would also remove the spike to conserve energy

No plastic pot with mine. Have thought about the water thing. Don't know if I'm that courageous. Have a burr. that has terrible root system that I'd be willing to try it with. Do you know if they would do ok in water?

That particular problem is very common down here in muggy Florida. I am getting good growing new roots!! Thank goodness for rooting hormone!
