Well, at the age of 6 I took my oldest out to get riding lessons. I wanted my kids to trail ride with me. Big mistake...she got hooked and is my horse lady...I never taught the other kids for this is a very expensive habit, LOL. The first pic is of Gio (Giovanni) our current horse. The second pic is Rio. Our original horse. My daughter outgrew him and he is with another family at this time. My daughter is the girl in the second pic

LOL, I have many secret lives but none of them involve three numbers. My favorite place that I have ever ridden was along the beach in Agadir, Morocco. I leased a horse and galloped along the ocean, it had been a fantasy of mine...one that I fulfilled.

I love to ride horses. I haven't done it in awhile, but always liked to do it. My family has always had a horse or two. My sister actually got really into it and did shows.

Your daughter is beautiful, Ron. That is such a great shot of her and Rio.

Wow ron these are beautiful shots!! I rode for about 10 years and did show jumping, loved every min of it...

Ron, your daughter is beautiful! And that is a great shot of her with the beautiful horse. Growing up we had Foxtrotters--I really miss riding, but not so much the WORK involved with having horses.

Fine looking horses, Ron! and daughter too!

Not long out of college, I spent many summer weekends and a full winter with friends on a working farm in upstate NY. One of the daughters, who was a little older than I was bred horses and raced the Thoroughbreds at Saratoga.

I feel in love with a 2-yr-old filly, who seemed to feel the same about me. I so wanted to buy her, but I lived in Manhattan at the time. I thought I could keep her in my bathtub. It was the only large space in my apartment. She was short and stubby, so I thought it might work. I was informed that the horsey term for "short and stubby" is "closely coupled."

I could tell other stories about my riding, but they're just too embarrassing.

Enjoy the camaraderie with your daughter it will leave BOTH of you with beautiful memories.

I wish it was that warm in Saratoga now...March can bring some big storms to this area. I have at least a foot of snow down presently. The pic of my daughter with Rio was taken in 2003. I cam across these as I was looking through some pics on my computer. Lisette turned 21, 2 weeks ago. She is attending college full time and is breaking a green horse, training another and caring for Giovanni. She helps out at the barn in trade for her board. She also does show jumping as well. Orchids she does not do...that is my solo thing.

She has turned into quite a beauty. I miss my little girl that I used to lead around on a pony. I also have 2 other children, an 18 year old son and my baby, who will be 15 on Monday.

Kid grow up fast and before you know it they are gone. I had four all grown now and replaced by Orchids. I had a pony when I was a kid, he had a mind of his own and the relationship didn't last. I can't tell you how many times I was thrown from that horse.
