Phal -normal leaf drop?

I've had this Phal for a couple months. About a week ago the bottom leaves turned yellow and dropped off. I've also noticed a dark nub. This is my first Phal. I'd like to know if this is what a Phal looks like when the leaves have dropped. I think at some point I may have gotten water in the crown and didn't dry it out soon enough. I'm hoping the leaves didn't drop from rot.

No, I believe it is normal. Do the top leaves show any signs of failure?

The top leaves look good so far. I'm pretty much a paranoid with my track record. I'd rather be safe than sorry
